Queens Park Rangers fans are feeling a lot more optimistic about this Championship season, according to supporter Gav Lawson. He told reporters that a strong start and a change in style have lifted spirits around the club.
Lawson said it is too early to tell how his side might perform over the full campaign. But he is feeling bright about their chances after the opening weeks.
"There's goals in this team, there's some real talent, and we've made some brilliant signings so I think QPR fans are feeling a lot more optimistic this season," Lawson said. He highlighted that the positivity stems not only from results but from the manner of their play, with the team creating a lot of chances and looking dangerous.
A key shift has been in possession. Lawson noted that in recent seasons QPR rarely dominated the ball, but they are now having more of it and using it effectively. This was evident in their last outing, a 1-1 draw away to West Brom on 12 September, where they fought back from an own goal to earn a point.
That result is part of a solid recent run. Queens Park Rangers' form over their last five matches reads two wins, two draws and one loss.
The squad does face some challenges, however. Several players are currently sidelined, including Ilias Chair, Jimmy Dunne, Karamoko Dembélé and Paul Smyth. Their return will be a boost, and fans can check the latest on the injuries page.
With the international break over, attention turns to the next fixture. The team will look to build on their encouraging start when the Championship schedule resumes next weekend.
