Owen Elding’s 15th-minute penalty was saved by Davy Roef as Hibernian held Gent to a 0-0 draw. The result strengthens Hibs’ position for the return leg, following their 0-0 draw against Shkendija in North Macedonia.
Motherwell Fall to Freiburg
Freiburg dominated Motherwell, winning 3-1 in the first leg. Regan Charles-Cook opened the scoring in 73 seconds, but Freiburg responded with Ginter’s penalty and Goto’s stoppage-time header. Motherwell’s ten-man squad faces a tough return leg.
