Loan signing adds depth to Woking's defence
Queens Park Rangers defender Jaiden Putman has joined Woking on a short-term loan, adding further depth to Craig Ross' defensive options. The 19-year-old has gained valuable senior experience during loan spells with Barking, Oxford City, and Bath City, where he made 25 appearances in the National League South during the second half of last season.
Why Putman is a valuable addition
Putman has been a product of the Queens Park Rangers academy, joining the club's under-9s and progressing through the ranks before signing his first professional contract in 2025. He made his first-team debut for QPR in the EFL Cup against Plymouth Argyle in August 2025, before continuing his development with regular senior football.
What comes next for Putman at Woking?
Speaking after joining the Cardinals, Putman said, "I'm really pleased to be here. As soon as I spoke to the coaching staff, it was clear this was the right place for me to continue my development. I'm looking forward to getting out on the pitch, meeting the lads, and doing everything I can to help the team over the next few months." Director of Football Jody Brown added, "We have a couple of short-term injuries, so we've taken the decision to add Jaiden on a short-term loan. He's trained with Craig and the staff this week, which is of great advantage. They're confident that he's able to step in and add quality to the group."
